Tracker,Inc. has designed
and fielded telemetry products used by Wildlife Managers and researchers
throughout the world. The South African police use the systems for
elephant management, and to stop poaching. Others have used the
transmitters to research fish weighing as little as one pound. Falconers,
and others have used our 8-gram transmitters effectively for tracking
the movement of eagles and other birds of prey
The
Maxima receiver will be the backbone of the system. Capable of tracking
bands from 1 to 10 Mhz, with up to 100 separate channels in memory,
it allows the researcher to move rapidly from transmitter to transmitter
from one location. With the total receiver weighing only 14 ounces,
and measuring 15" by 8" by 1 5/8" in the operating mode, and 2"
by 8" by 1 5/8" in the carry mode, the researcher or manager is
only limited by his ability to move -- not the receiver's.
Name of the animal to be studied, weight and size of the animal,
length of the study, number of readings per day required, and location
of the transmitter - external on collar, in tail feather, or internally.
